Athena didn't ask for the life she was given, but meeting Nathaniel made it all worth while. So, when they are separated all she can think of is finding him. Only there is a very good chance that he was killed by the Demons that brought them both down.
All the while Jackson is just trying to make amends for his mistake. He failed, when failure was not an option, but for some reason, he was not pulled from his post. Instead he finds himself struggling to keep up with his remaining charge and the mysterious girl he finds bloodied and near death.
As if that wasn't bad enough, they find themselves pursued by a horde of demons hell bent on killing all three of them.
