Winter’s Discord jzeleznik

Description

When an attempt is made on fifteen-year-old Ben Grange’s life, a strange and powerful magic awakens within him, reflecting the dark omens plaguing the kingdom. He and his closest friends are sent north with his father's best friend, a disgraced prince, to learn the "game of thrones" and try to uncover the growing darkness. While there Ben is seduced by promises of power and glory, alienating those closest to him while leaving them to unravel the mysteries that surround them and struggle with the changing views of right and wrong.

Ben realizes he may have to sacrifice the prestige he craves to make things right and redeem himself with those most important to him, but it may be too late. All they know may be coming to an end-and it may be because of Ben.

Here's a link to a character list if you don't want to toggle back and forth between the front and back of the book.

The writing is good but there are a lot of characters and I'm having a hard time keeping them all straight.

There's a character list in the back of the book. Maybe it's something I'll make available online too.
