Maple's Fantastic Stories: The House of Coventry Maple Twiggs

Description

Frustrated cough. Bitter, narcissistic, and grossly immature, Maple Twiggs decides to write a story. Her characters are hesitant to participate. Stella, a mostly-daft 16 year old girl, doesn't want to be the heroine of this novel, and most certainly doesn't want a love interest. Archie, the God of Destruction, is her equally reluctant love interest. Morrow and her sisters want to learn about their forbidden magical abilities. She signs on to help Maple tell this tale, because Maple is a consistently useless author. When Sylvie, Archie's friend, is trapped inside a painting by a God of Death, she wonders if she should have killed her boyfriend, Ozzie, when she had the chance. Will Stella be able to help Archie save Sylvie? Escape, dear reader, into an arty magical universe that secretly coexists with the mundane world around you.

I actually am enjoying this so far, it almost feels like my own thoughts written down by someone else on paper. I enjoy the humor and i want more!

At the end of the third 'chapter' I have no idea what is going on. That's really all I can say at this point.

Yeah, I probably need to change the way I have the separations because of the Swoon Reads 'Third Chapter' comment prompt - because it's not really the end of the 'Third Chapter. Haha. Thank you so much for reading though! I gift you a virtual gold star and a virtual pet armadillo!

The story hasn't really started yet; the narrator/author is still talking. But I think that she's really interesting.

^ This was in response to Swoon's "three chapters" prompt, which kicked in really early, since there are a bunch of mini-chapters at the start of this book. I'm 8% in now and the story is kicking up. It's a fun, interesting read and I really like the sense of humor. <3
