Keeper of the Corpse Flowers

Description

Death is a vine that climbs the Thorpe family tree, and sixteen-year-old Saffy is the newest member in grieving. Sent to live with her doctor-Uncle Aster in Violet Hill, she visits the ancient conservatory in the back yard, where her tears drip onto the rare, dormant corpse flowers. Fed by her grief, they begin to bloom in prediction of death.
Saffy meets Blake Beckett, the only person who seems to understand her loss, but he cautions her of the dangers of the corpse flowers. She ignores his warnings. Convinced she can save others from regrets like hers, she welcomes the people of Violet Hill to have the corpse flowers read their fate.
But when the corpse flowers bloom for Blake, Saffy makes a starling discovery-her friend is not who she thought he was at all, and saving him will mean leaving the grief she is so afraid to let go of.
