He curtsied and the audience cheered wildly, flinging all manner of flowers at him as he continued his dance, silks drawing around him, fire blazing through the air. Their claps thundered in Caleb’s ears as the boy finished his dance, back arched, panting deeply with his head hung back. Then the fire boy looked at the entrance, straight at young Caleb, and his breath caught in his throat. Golden, summer eyes, bright as the melting sun.
