The Park Cover Design for THE BOY NEXT DOOR

Our Creative Director Rich D. has created four amazing cover directions for THE BOY NEXT DOOR and we are counting on you to help us decide which one actually goes on the book! We know it’s a big decision, so we’ve sat down with Rich to find out what inspired this cover direction:

Boy Next Door Cover - park 2

This cover direction was directly inspired from an important scene in the book. At one point, Gabe gives Maddy a picture of the first time that the two of them ever went skating together as children on the town pond.  Then later, they recreate that moment, and it’s such a great visual image, that we felt it was perfect for the cover.

The overall sepia tone adds a feel of reminiscing about the past. And that golden glow makes this cover feel very dreamlike and almost magical with the feel of winter, and snow and falling in love.

Who hasn’t wished for and dreamed about that moment when you are skating together for the first time and something magical happens and somehow you are falling in love or sharing your first kiss…

If you love what Rich is doing here, let us know by leaving a comment and voting for this cover direction. And remember, this is a cover direction, not the final cover, so if you have suggestions for making it even more Swoonworthy, share it in the comments!
