Swoon Spotlight: Claire T. — Thoughts on Publishing
As part of our ongoing effort to give you a glimpse behind the scenes of publishing, we have a new feature on our blog: Swoon Spotlight! Every week we’re going to introduce you to a Swoon Reads staff member, who has volunteered their time, energy, and enthusiasm to the imprint—while still being amazing at their regular jobs! This week we are featuring Claire T. Check back every day at 2pm to learn more about Claire, her job, and her thoughts on life in publishing.
Common misconceptions about book publishing.
Probably that I spend all my time reading (I do not), and also that this industry is dying and I’ll have no job because of e-books (it is not).

I would love to be an editor (but just for a day, because I really don’t think I could hack it). It’s the most famous job in this industry, but I think also one of the least understood.
Funniest way you’ve heard a friend or family member describe your job?
Someone in my family once gave me a MAJOR promotion when telling someone else what my job title was, it was awesome – but I had to immediately correct them and say that in fact I was not nearly that important.
