Swoon Spotlight: Claire T. — Odds and Ends
As part of our ongoing effort to give you a glimpse behind the scenes of publishing, we have a new feature on our blog: Swoon Spotlight! Every week we’re going to introduce you to a Swoon Reads staff member, who has volunteered their time, energy, and enthusiasm to the imprint—while still being amazing at their regular jobs! This week we are featuring Claire T. Check back every day at 2pm to learn more about Claire, her job, and her thoughts on life in publishing.
What does your desk look like on any given day?
Basically a disaster – papers on my desk, books stacked on the shelves (and on the floor), toys, posters and knick knacks from book promotions and random gifts. There is a method to the madness (sort of). I like to think it looks like the inside of my brain, cluttered and colorful and relatively organized (usually).
What’s a book you wish you’d worked on?
God, there are SO many. Right now, I think Rainbow Rowell is amazing and I would love to get to sell her books. I’m also a huge fan of Gayle Foreman’s books so that would be cool. But also working on biggies like Twilight, Hunger Games and Harry Potter would be fun, I would love to see that level of crazy first hand.
What piece of advice would you give your younger self?
So long as you’re enjoying yourself, you’re not wasting time. If you’re not enjoying yourself make a change.
