Judging a Cover by Its Book: Choose the Cover Direction for KISSING MAX HOLDEN!
Cover voting is now closed. Thanks for all your help!
Hey there, Swooners!
"After his father has a life-altering stroke, Max Holden isn't himself. As his long-time friend, Jillian Eldridge only wants to help him, but she doesn't know how. So when he climbs through her window one night, she knows that she shouldn't let him kiss her. But she does. When they're caught in the act by her Dad, she swears it'll never happen again. Because kissing Max Holden is a terrible idea.
With a new baby sibling on the way, and her parents fighting all the time, Jillian spends more and more time with Max. And not kissing Max is easier said than done, even though she knows he still has a girlfriend. Will Jill follow her heart, and allow their kisses to blossom into something more, or will she listen to her head and stop kissing Max Holden altogether?"
Swoon designers Becca S. and Sophie E. have put together four fantastic cover directions for you to choose from, and have shared some thoughts about their inspiration behind each one. Remember, the below images aren't necessarily final. These are just directions, so there will probably be some tweaks made before the book hits the shelves. Sophie E.'s Kitchen Cover
Love isn't in the details; it's in the kitchen. Where cooking up something hot starts with the right ingredients. This direction was inspired by Jill's love of baking! If this direction is chosen, we'll probably recreate the photo using models that look a little younger.
Becca S.'s Fence Cover
Fences are a tried and true visual representation of boundaries and challenging forces, and boy do these two characters face a lot of challenges! That and, of course, they're literally neighbors. So a fence seemed like a perfect fit for this book. It's a little reminder that love has the power to scale ALL (literal and figurative) fences.
Sophie E.'s Truck Cover
Navigating life and love can be tricky. But amid the madness we sometimes have to stop and appreciate the small things. Like a pickup truck. A sunset. And a kiss.
Becca S.'s Night Cover
Is there ANYTHING more romantic that string lights? A beautiful night sky full of stars? Why not BOTH? Throw in a secret kiss and a Swoonworthy romance can't be far!
