Judging a Cover by Its Book: Pick the Cover Direction for THE BOY NEXT DOOR

Cover Voting is Now Closed! — Thank you for telling us what made you swoon!

Hey Swoon Readers,

We know that everyone is very excited about Katie Van Ark’s intensely romantic novel The Boy Next Door.  All your comments and enthusiasm were key in bringing it to our attention, and we know that your advice has been invaluable in helping Katie through her revisions.

(For all those who weren’t lucky enough to read it earlier, when it was posted as Pairing Up, The Boy Next Door is about a pair figure skater named Maddy, who is desperately in love with her skating partner and childhood friend, Gabe, who is just as determined to think of her as a sister. But when their coach assigns a new romantic skating program, everything changes! Will this be the big break Maddy has been hoping for, or the big break-up that Gabe has always feared?)

And now, it’s time for one of the most exciting parts of the process: Picking the cover direction!

Our art director Rich D., who designed the beautiful cover you chose for Save Me, was so inspired by The Boy Next Door that he has created FOUR amazing cover directions for you to choose from:

Boy Next Door Cover - snowglobe 2
The Snow Globe Cover
Boy Next Door Cover - silhouettes
The Silhouettes Cover
Boy Next Door Cover - park 2
The Park Cover
Boy Next Door Cover - skates 2
The Skates Cover

And remember, these are just cover directions. Once you pick the look you like the best, Rich will continue to work on the cover, improving and tweaking it, until it is perfect!

If, like us, you are having trouble choosing, you can check back every day this week for an in depth look at each option, as Rich explains how he came up with these different cover directions.
