Announcing Our New List: LOST IN LIMBO by Elizabeth Hrib, BRYN by C.M. McGuire, HOME ICK by Karen Bischer, and FLINT FLARE FLAME by Sam Taylor!

Dear Swoon Readers,

With each passing season we continue to be blown away by the talent and creativity all of you bring to the Swoon community. Thank you to everyone who participated in this last round of submissions, whether as a writer or a reader. We couldn't do this without you!

There's a lot to celebrate at Swoon Reads as we embark on a new year. We’ve partnered with A+E Studios to develop our books for TV and film, and we're publishing 23 new titles in 2019.

We are so pleased to present the four new books and authors that have been selected for publication this season. Thank you for helping us find these incredible voices.

Best wishes,

Jean (and Stella)

Here they are! Swoon Reads Season 15:

Lost in Limbo by Elizabeth Hrib

After a near-death experience, a teen girl gains the ability to cross over between the realms of life and death in this paranormal debut.

Why We Love It

• A powerful girl friendship, an adorkable angel-boy, and a cataclysmic struggle between good and evil... these are just a few of our favorite things. (And they're ALL in this book!)

• Casey's grief and survivor's guilt is portrayed in an interesting and nuanced way.

Bryn by C.M. McGuire

A teen outcast must work together with new friends to keep her family and town safe from murderous Fae while also dealing with panic attacks, family issues, and a lesbian love triangle in this kick-butt paranormal YA novel.

Why We Love It

• A strong protagonist who can hold her own in a fight but also has convincing vulnerabilities that make her very real and relatable.

• Fantastic action scenes that keep you on the edge of your seat.

• Queer Lesbian Fairy Love Triangle! What more could you want?

Home Ick by Karen Bischer

Ellie is paired up with three misfits in what should be her easiest course—except that she's being forced to watch her ex fawn over his new girlfriend.

Why We Love It

• The sense of humor is giving us major To All The Boys I've Loved Before vibes.

• We love seeing how friendships develop between Ellie and the boys in her home ec group (bonus—witty banter, our ultimate weakness).

Flint Flare Flame by Sam Taylor

Two teens who were stolen from their families at a young age are forced to live in constant danger as magical fire-wielding soldiers for a tyrannical empire in this epic fantasy debut.

Why We Love It

• It's a very rare thing in YA for the main couple to actually be together at the start of the story, and it makes us love Pran and Oksana all the more.

• The world is vibrant and expansive and sucked us right in.

Congratulations Elizabeth, C.M., Karen, and Sam! And welcome to Swoon Reads!

Writers, want to be considered for publication? Our next submission deadline is April 30th. And Readers, help us find which books to publish next! It's currently Read Month and we're looking for your feedback to choose our next list.
