Announcing MY NEW CRUSH GAVE TO ME by Shani Petroff!

I can finally tell you all about my new book -- My New Crush Gave to Me. I am so excited about it! I love holidays, romance, and comedy -- and I got to combine them all to create this story.

Here's a quick synopsis:

You don’t need a Christmas miracle when you have a foolproof plan.

Charlotte “Charlie” Donovan knows exactly what she wants for Christmas. Teo Ortiz. He’s the school’s star athlete, he’s in the National Honor Society, he volunteers, he contributes to the school paper (where Charlie is co-editor), and he’s exactly the type of guy Charlie knows she’s meant to be with. The only problem is -- he barely knows she exists. But Charlie prides herself on being an amazing problem solver, and she’s going to make Teo not only notice her, but want to take her to the Christmas ball. At least that’s the goal.

With the help of her best friend, Morgan, Charlie rigs the paper’s Secret Santa so that she draws Teo’s name.  She plans to give him five perfect gifts to pique his curiosity about his gift giver, while simultaneously trying to get to know him better. But to do that she needs help. Enter J.D. Ortiz -- Teo’s cousin. He’s the opposite of Charlie (and Teo). He’s easy going, laid back, unorganized, spontaneous, and makes a joke out of everything -- the type of person that drives Charlie crazy. But he’s willing to help her get what she wants (including a lot of Teo time leading up to Christmas), so she’s stuck with him. But the more time she spends with J.D., the more she starts to realize that what she wants and what she thinks she wants may be very different things…

I got so wrapped up in writing this book that it felt like Christmas time almost all year for me! I wrote the first draft during the summer. On a particularly hot day, I decided to take a break from writing and grab something from outside. I was so in the world of Charlie, Teo, and J.D. that I grabbed my winter jacket before I left! It didn't take me long to realize that it was still summer.

This book was so much fun to write, and I can't wait for you all to read it!

Come back tomorrow for cover voting!
