Announcing BEEN HERE ALL ALONG by Sandy Hall!

Coming in August 2016 from the author of A Little Something Different and Signs Point to Yes, Swoon Reads is proud to present Been Here All Along by Sandy Hall!

sandyI am so excited to tell you guys about Been Here All Along that I actually had trouble sitting down and getting out the right words to describe everything. My focus was all over the place.

I am embarrassingly in love with all of the characters in this story, but particularly Kyle and Gideon. Now that it’s finally time to share them with you I am like a rainbow of enthusiastic and anxious emojis.

The story of Been Here All Along started last March in a conference room at Swoon HQ during a conversation with The Trifecta of Awesome. (AKA Holly West, Lauren Scobell, and Emily Settle.) We were discussing what my third book should be about and I asked Holly, honestly, what was on her manuscript wish list. She had the most fantastic answer.

Holly explained that there was this fan made video for Taylor Swift’s “You Belong With Me” that features two boys and that what she really wanted was a book inspired by it. We all scampered into an office to watch the video and I was SOLD. This was exactly the kind of story I wanted to tell.

From that moment on I couldn’t stop thinking about this book.

When I’m planning a new book, I know I’m ready to start writing when the characters start talking to each other in my head. Nearly from their inception, Kyle and Gideon have been chatting away nonstop.

Which makes sense given the fact that they’ve been best friends since they were five years old.

Kyle is tall, awkward, and bisexual. Gideon is short, dorky, and so into school that he’s never given much thought to dating or anything so frivolous. It’s not until Gideon witnesses Kyle having a fight with his girlfriend Ruby at a school dance that he realizes he’s super into Kyle. Cue the sad trombones as Gideon tries his best to push away and ignore his feelings only to fail time and again.

But Gideon’s smart, and with some dubious help from his older brother Ezra, he might just figure out a way to win Kyle over without ruining their friendship in the process. At least that’s the plan. But things never really go exactly how you plan.

Thanks so much for your continued support and interest in my writing. If everyone likes Kyle and Gideon even half as much as I do, we’ll all be in very good shape.
