And the winning cover for SMALL TOWN HEARTS is...

Every writer spends so much time perfecting the bones and guts of their book that they’re super anxious/excited/over the moon about seeing the fancy clothes the book will be dressed up in!

I wasn’t any different.

And yet I wasn’t ready for the thrill that went through me when I saw the subject of my newest email: Covers for cover voting!

WHAT?! It was cover time already? Heart thudding, I opened the email. I raced over the words and scrolled madly through all three covers sitting prettily in my inbox.

I was grocery shopping at the time, and was about to ignore the little ping of my notification. But now? I was so flippin’ glad that I didn’t! I sailed through the aisles in a sort of daze, feeling like Belle herself swooping across bookshelves.

Yep. I was Disney princess happy.

Flash forward to voting day and I was glued to the screen. The votes all came in pretty even at first, and I was geared up for a neck and neck race.

Would it be the Hazy, with the beachy aesthetic and happy teens?

Would the Café cover lure everyone in with its scrumptious confectionary delights?

Or perhaps the cute and quirky Bike, wheelin’ away to the finish line?

The Café and Bike duked it out for the first few hours, but then one of them pulled ahead, and the surge continued all week, so it was no surprise to anyone that the Café cover was the one that won your hearts! (Or should I say stomachs…*wink wink*)

Thank you so much to designer Katie K. for coming up with such a smorgasbord of color, and another huge thank-you to everyone who came out to vote, share, and leave feedback! I had a blast reading through all your insights and seeing how the whole Swoon village came together to choose a yummy cover!

It’s amazing being one step closer to a Real, Live Actual Book. With every new step this book takes, the realness intensifies. *internal fangirl screaming*

I can’t wait for you all to come into Busy’s and meet Babe and Levi. You’ll find me cozied up in the corner with a good book and a drink with a copious amount of whipped cream, so pull up a chair and order a coffee!
