I’m a writer and reader of MG and YA novels. I grew up as a military brat and lived here and there, including DC, Alabama, and Japan. I was born in Maine, where I have lived since shortly after I married my husband. I’m a folklorist and treasure tidbits of folklore and folklife uncovered wherever I talk to people.
My fictions hovers around Tokyo, Washington DC, 19th century Bath Maine, and 100th millennium BC Tanzania, and Zaire.
The Underneath by Kathi Appelt. The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-time Indian by Sherman Alexie. City of Dark Magic by Magnus Flyte (who seems to be two horses). And anything by Pierre Boulle, who made tight novels that read like short stories.
“Happiness is an attitude. We can make ourselves miserable or we can make outselves happy and strong. It takes the same amount of effort.” — Francesca Reigler “Pain is inevitable; misery is optional.”
