Makenzie Sparks has been writing since the age of eleven, when she completed her first poem and won first place at the Arizona State Fair. She graduated high school with two associates degrees and subsequently graduated from Arizona State University by the age of twenty, majoring in English -studying creative writing, technical writing, and editing. When she isn’t writing, she is often found with her nose in a book or with crafting supplies in hand. She enjoys talking about science and philosophy, but also enjoys making others laugh with her whimsical sense of humor. In a Moment is her first novel, completed in her senior year of college. She currently resides in Arizona, but more often than not, she is living in one fictional world or another.

"All men have stars, but they are not the same things for different people... All these stars are silent... In one of the stars I shall be living. In one of them I shall be laughing. And so it will be as if all the stars will be laughing when you look at the sky at night."
-Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
