I'm a professor and National Geographic explorer who studies marine debris (plastic in the ocean). I write about big, complex problems: dependence on technology (in this or another century), political corruption, destruction of the planet, and climate change with lots of adventure and a bit of romance thrown in. I have three kids, one husband, one dog, and five chickens.
